Thursday, February 21 2019 6:30 PM 8:00 PM

This event is free. Advanced tickets are not necessary for this event. Sam Barlow Theatre Department would like to invite all of you to experience the power of “Bang, Bang, You're Dead" by William Mastrosimone. This powerful and important play was written in 1999 to raise awareness of bullying, school violence and its causes. It is strongly based on the events surrounding the school shootings on May 20, 1998 at Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon. Barlow actors performed and received honors for this same production at the Oregon State and International Thespian Festivals in 2016.

Following the performance, audience members can participate in breakout sessions and talkbacks with the student actors, school administration, counselors, law enforcement and local mental health professionals.

While the play deals with the subject of school violence there is no strong language in the play, and no guns or weapons appear on stage at anytime.

This event is FREE and will be held in the Barlow Cafeteria starting at 6:30pm.
